Web tools that do the first half of your sales conversation.

A cold room company gets asked the same thing twenty times a week. How big do I need, and what will it cost? Most of those enquiries never turn into a quote, because answering properly costs an engineer half an hour and the person asking has already messaged two competitors.

I build the thing that answers it on your own site, then hands your engineer a finished specification instead of a first question.

Proof, not a mockup

A cold room sizing module, powered and priced

Put in the room size, what you are storing, how much arrives each day and the temperature you need. It returns the refrigeration duty, where every kilowatt of that load comes from, an indicative budget, and the solar array, battery and inverter to run the whole thing off grid.

The numbers are not invented. Transmission, product, internal, infiltration and equipment loads follow the ASHRAE Refrigeration Handbook. Specific heats come from Siebel’s equations using water content, so a commodity nobody planned for still gets a sensible answer. Efficiency is derived from the actual evaporating and condensing temperatures rather than looked up, which is why a Lagos fish freezer and a Manchester pharmacy store size differently without a second version of the tool.

The demo carries an invented company name, Meridian Cold Chain, so you can picture yours in its place.

What I do

Four things, done properly, for one fee

I work as one person, so you deal with whoever is doing the work and nothing gets lost between an account manager and a developer. It also means I take on a small number of projects at a time, and I say so up front rather than after you have paid.

  • A site that says what you actually doMost technical companies describe themselves in words their buyer never uses. The writing matters more than the design here, so I do both.
  • A tool that qualifies the enquiryThe sizing module above is the example. The same idea works for generators, solar, air conditioning, anything where the buyer opens with how big and how much.
  • The content to keep it aliveCopy, photography direction, and short video for the site and for social. A good site with nothing behind it goes quiet in a month.
  • Launch, then looking after itHosting, search setup, and a monthly note telling you how many enquiries came in and what sizes people asked for.

How it runs

No surprises, and no hourly billing

  1. A call, about thirty minutes. I want to hear the questions people ask you before they buy, and what you currently send back.
  2. A written scope. Fixed price, fixed date, and what is not included. No hourly billing.
  3. Sixty percent to start. Balance when it goes live.
  4. Build, one review round, launch. You see it working before you approve it, not a picture of it.
  5. A care plan, if you want one. Changes and hosting on a monthly fee, cancel whenever.

Talk to me

Tell me what people ask you before they buy

If that question has a number in it, there is probably a tool in it. Send me a line about what you sell and I will tell you honestly whether it is worth building for you.
